15/5 Fifth week

Last Thursday meeting, we watched a few of the videos from our client’s past visits to Russia. As we discussed about how each clip would be presented, we had difficult time to define which clip goes into different section. Since there is a lot of footage, our client suggested us that she would have someone who is familiar with the videos go through them and look for the best ones. I found that we can do just so much as an instructional designer, but we need to have subject matter experts’ careful review on materials.

Also, we decided to begin working on the upcoming documents that are due on Oct. 9 (User profile, treatment rationale, Hardware/Software and Screen Design). I have assigned to the part “User profile”. So, I have gathered some reference information from previous 6210 team worked with our client in this week.

We finally received the full content on Sunday evening. We cancel our usual Sunday meeting and review the content individually so that we can each become more familiar with it on our own and making some notes on how we thought it would be delivered best. When we meet again on Thursday we'll discuss our ideas and see if we can start figuring out how to design.

Things coming up: 1) Continue working on the User Profile documentation 2)
Develop concrete ideas for the flow of each section of the project

15/5 Fourth week

I just can't beilieve it has been already fourth week for my very last 6210 STUDIO class. How time flies!

Last thursday, we was able to complete our task analysis during our regular team-meeting. I love our team being so efficient and goal- oriented as well as amiable for each other. It seems that we already entered the third stage of the team work development that Dr. Clinto metioned on second week workshop.

We thought that we completed document for the needs assessment, but we realized that we have not defined performance objectives yet through the conversiation with Dr. Clinto and other team. Therefore, we have been assigned everyone in the team to work on two instructional goals in order to come up with performance objectives. I have been assigned to create performance objectives for Instructional goal 5 &6. This process allows me to review some of mateirals that I learned in 6170 Instructional Design course and applied those into the task.

As we finalized our performance objectives on Sunday on-line team meeting, I feel so confident about not only we defined all the things requre for the documentation work, but also we are a head of game and looking forward to move to next stage.

15/5 Third week

Since we had a meeting with our client, Dr. Powell last Thursday, we have accomplished quiet a lot throughout the week.

As soon as we reviewed the content on the current web-site of client, we developed questionnaire for the survey during our meeting on Thursday. Although we planned to complete the survey questionnaire on Sunday evening, we finalized the questionnaire on Thursday. As a result, we had more time to focus on analyze the content that will be able to cover in the program and the scope of the project.

On Sunday meeting in Horizon wimba, we also discussed the purpose statement, instructional goal, scope of the project and the following time-line for next tasks.

On Monday, we conducted our needs assessment survey during the one of the recreation class. As soon as Trudy passed the format that analyzes the survey result, Suhwa and I collect the data and retrieve questionnaire.

The following on-line meeting on Tuesday, we were able to finalize instructional goal, distribute different task for each person in order to complete needs assessment document.

I am glad that I have completed performance gap analysis and cannot wait to see our final needs assessment document which is due next week.

15/5 Second Week

Due to the Labor Day weekend, the movement of project has been kind of slow down. But, we were able to discuss and complete several tasks during our second meeting.

We finalized 6200 consultants’ role and hire the people for the roles: our team all agree with what kind of role we need for 6200 consultant before the team meeting on last Thursday. Our PM, Trudy had a job-fair time with 6200 people and hired them for each role. Also, I had a chance to talk with I-Yung, who has a good video editing skill, about the possibility to work with our team as video editor. As a result, she decided to work with us.

Since we have not received all contents from client, we have to revise the timeline for completing Needs Assessment documentation. (Actually, our awesome PM made revision! ) All of the team members have already expressed their willingness to follow this new timeline and confident that we will accomplish all that we plan to in the next week. I am so grateful to be the part of our team that everyone is willing to be flexible and work together.

The following tasks are thing to do in the next week:

-Analyze entire content and determine instructional goals.
-Perform needs assessment and begin Needs Assessment documentation
-Begin formulating ideas for the design approach.
