15/5 First week

Finally, the last course of STUDIO has been launched! Surprisingly, the first week of 6210 went with the flow. The following items are what our team and I have accomplished this week.

-Team formation: Through the little hard process to divide people into two groups in 6210 class last week, I got in the group with Trudy, Ali and Suhwha. We named our team as “Global Solutions” because not only we have people from three different countries, but also the project we will be working on is “Russian Summer Camp Experience”. I love our team name and all of the members who are truly global! Also, we defined major role for each of us in the team and make sure that we all take the ownership of all the work. Personally, I really like my role as an evaluator in the team. I think it will give me more responsibility to make sure the project moving towards to the right direction as well as concern about the quality of our project.

-Choosing a project: Since I worked with Dr. Gwynn Powell last semester, I did not hesitate to choose one of the project she suggested. The final chosen project name is “Russian Summer Camp Experience”. The main objective of the project is to educate potential students about the Camp Counselors Russia Program as well as things that they need to prepare. What I like about the project, we will utilize/embed the video clips in order to provide real feel of Russian camp exprience to the learners/users.


-Meeting with Client: Trudy and I had a meeting with our awesome client, Dr. Powell on Tuesday. Since she has a good understanding about STUDIO class and project, we could accomplish a lot through a brief meeting. We cleared out Goal of the Project, Target Audience, and Learner Profile, etc. Yet, the scope of the project is little blurring for me. I guess that we can either broaden or narrow it down as we discuss later in this week.

In addition to the items above, we also created project management site and linked to individual’s journal site. Lastly, we determined 6200 consultant roles as well.

In the upcoming week, I think that we need to complete the following tasks.

· Review the materials and finalize the specific scope of the project.
· Develop a timeline/ plan for the project.
· Define and Contact the necessary 6200 consultants.
