**City Planner**

Hi Natasha,

First of all, I love your concept of the project, “city planner”. It is very interesting see that how the city transportation planning influence on pollution, taxes, travel time, development. I also like how you present the result of the investigation on different transportation system. I have to say that I am so impressed with the quality of your graphic design. It looks so professional. . Well, I can’t imagine how much effort and many hours and you spent get all the function working properly. Just amazing!

The only thing that I would like to suggest is examples of city planning. It would be nice to have couple of examples that shows the result of city planning such as bike friendly city with numerous parks vs car dominated city with heavy pollution and traffic. If the examples provided, the user can easily vision how the investigation on different transportation influences the outcome of city planning.

**Sewing 101**

Hi Sabrina,

Ever since I saw my mom making curtains for the new house when I was in elementary school, I always wanted to learn how to make something with sewing machine. But, I have not had the patient or time to sit down and learn different skills and etc. I think that your project will be helpful for the most of people who interested in it like me in a very fun and enjoyable way. You have a very nice and stylish frame for your site. The color scheme, the font is well fitted to your project. I also like the cute icon that you added to each menu. Overall, I think that you have created very good comprehensive sewing site that covers basic information about sewing and provide useful information. In addition, I can see that you will provide the example of making a laptop case.

Here are my suggestions for your project.
  1. In the section of meet you sewing machine, it would be nice to have the name of part shows in the first sewing machine picture. I think that it will give the user clearer idea of where they need to mouse over.
  2. In the section of words to know, it would be nice to change the color of the alphabet when the user mouse over it.

**2013 Workplace Revolution**

Hi! I-Yung

How is your project going? I just can’t believe that we have only 6 days for the showcase! How time flies!

Well, I supposed to give you the deskcrit earlier, but I couldn’t find the link to your project from your PM site. Since you have had changed the client at the last phase of the class, I am sure that it is not easy to manage it (I have been there). Anyway, I am writing the deskcrit based on what I remember from the dress rehearsal night.

First of all, I really like the concept of your project that bridge the generation gap and help different generation employees work well together. It is very interesting topic and definitely necessary in today’s business world.

During the dress rehearsal night, I have enjoyed to see how you will integrate the learning model for your project and make the actual product. I think that you have a very good flow to follow for user.

**Beginning Knitting Quiz**

Hi Carrie,

I am sorry for the late deskcrit. Hope it helps even though it is the last minute feedback.
Let me briefly mention about the following aspect of the project.

-Overall design & Aesthetics- You have a very appealing and stylish frame for your site. The color scheme, the font is well fitted to your project.

-Organization & Appropriate Use of Media- It is concise and informative. Also, the feedback is appropriate.

I like that you provide the result of the quiz so that people can compare their score to the others.
The Only thing that I would suggest, it would be nice to have more detailed feedback with pictures or video for wrong answers. I think that it will give users more interaction and motivates them to learn more about knitting.

I am looking forward to seeing your final project on Showcase!

15/5 Thirteenth week

Last week, we had the showcase dress rehearsal. It was quite a bit successful. :-) All of our team did pretty well on our presentation and recieved great feedback on what we can do to improve it. Since we have gone through all that, I believe that we will do a better job on the final showcase.

Now, we approach the final stages of development and try to head into evaluations. Last sunday, we had a regualr online meerting to clear up what we left off last week at the rehearsal and discuss what we need to complete.

Personally, I have finished the more videos for the section American camp vs Russian camp- similarity and differences. There are few more videos to complete for the section 1 and 5 as well as left video clips that are not going to use for our project.

However, since we will have the video/photo gallery section for those remaining stuff, I am little concerned about the amount of the work left for vidoe editing. I would like to discuss with my team to decide how far we want to take for those section so that we will not be burden by unnecessary parts.

Hopefully, I will be able to get some work done during the Thanksgiving holiday so that I won;t be far behind. I just can't believe that final showcase is two weeks away!

15/5 Eleventh & Twelveth week

First of all, I apologize for the late posting. Somehow, I often forgot about the 15/5 (and other things...) I just need to stop excuse myself and manage all the tasks and assignment to get in doen in a timely manner. If I can't manage this matter, I would not succeed to manage myself in the real coporate world that I need to face sooner or later.

In the past two weeks, it was probably the most busy week for me during the development phase. Since I am mostly charged in video editing, I have spent most of evening in the Aderhold's editing suite with Suhwa. As a result, we have completed the four videos for lesson 1, 2 and 3.

After the 6500 Educational Television Product in the last semester, I have had not used final cut pro at all. So, it took me a little while to figure out different functions , shot cut keys and etc to edit the video in the software.

We had the problem to gain access to the remote server. Therefore, Trudy had to be responsible for creating all the HTML pages, which means importing content and embedding all the animations and videos that we needed for the lessons we planned to complete.I am sure that it was a lot of work for her and appreciate her diligent effort and leadership to take charge on that matter with other PM works. I am amazed by her excellent managementship and leadership.

For the showcase presentation, we decided to have everyone presents a different aspect of the project. While we preparing for the presentation, I was able to take more ownership of this project. I think that this would be a good example that the PM is not the only one in charge of the presentation, but everyone in the 6210 teams.

In the upcoming weeks after the rehearsal, I plan to:

  • Figure out how to access to the remote server
  • Make revisions (based on feedback) to lessons 1-3
  • Complete the two other videos for lesson 4 and 5

Also, I will contribute to the tasks:

  • Conduct evaluations
  • Complete remaining documentation

15/5 Tenth week

Last week, I wasn't able to attend the STUDIO class due to my condition. I have had a very busy week and anticipate to keep being busy all the way to the end of semester. Here is my situation. I am taking four different classes at the last semester which mean that I need to prepare myself to graduate both academically(fullfilling the graduation requirement) and professionally(applying for a job). Last weekend was the time that everything hits me. I have to prepare the phone interview for the job , complete the research report and storyboarding for the project. I just admire people who manage multipletask withing the limited time frame. Okay. That was enough complain! The good news is I was able to complete all that in time even though I am not sure about the quality of the works.:-)

Yesterday, Trudy and I met with Dr. Powell and some alumni of the program to record some new videos. Tour expectations were greatly exceeded and we were able to get some great footage in addition to what we had initially intended to record. By listening their experience while taking the interview shot, I want to participate the Russian Summer Camp!

I plan to do video editing in this weekend so that we can have some of the video that could be installed before dress rehearsal. As the showcase dress rehearsal lurks in the near future, our team will be working around the clock to get as much of the product completed by that time, so that we will have sufficient time after the showcase to make revisions and also to conduct evaluations.

15/5 Nineth week

I can't not believe that it is already nineth week! By looking at the other 6190 and 6200 students project during the project day last week, I felt little behind because we have not fully immersed in the development stage. But, we finally completed the flow and storyboard documents for the entire program we plan to develop. We have also begun the storyboarding, editing and development of the animations and videos that will be available in the site.

I have assigned to work on storyboarding for the videos as well as Trudy and Suhwa. Thanksfully, Trudy handed the list of the video that she sorted out so that I can focus on sotryboarding. Also, I have to create the rough storyboard for the interview video we need to shot next Wednesday.

15/5 Eighth Week

Since the project has been faced to development phase, we have been started to work on stuffs such as making the flow of the site and storyboard. This past week, members of our team reviewed the initial flow we have developed a few weeks back. By the end of this process , we will have a layout of each screen, the content and the resources needed. It will help us in the future to stay organized and to also look at the project as a whole.

As we enter to development phase, each of team ember will be working on their major task as well as helping each other whenever it is needed. It will reduce redundancy and therefore, help us to work in a more efficient way.

Personally this week, it was my job to start to review the video clips we have and sort out what things we want to use. For the next week, we plan to have completed the flow and storyboard of the site. We also, plan to begin the actual development of the HTML pages, videos and animations.

15/5 Seventh week

How time flies! I just can't not believe that we are already pass the half of the semester. Finally, we have finished our evaluation documents for client's review. We met together on Sunday and then again on Monday night to finalize the documents.

I was so delighted and amazed by our team dynamic while we had a team meeting through on-line this week. Everybody had well prepared their assigned work in good forms of power point presentation file and actively involved to give the feedback for other people's work. In addition, it only takes half an hour to finish up all this document!

Due to the profound feedback from the other team members, I was able to finalize my assigned part which are learners profile, profile of reviewers for alpha/beta test, design and development survey.

In the upcoming week, our team plans to: Finalize the flow of each section , Begin working on a flow chart, Begin working on the prototype, Put together a list of all the videos/animations that must be created .

15/5 Sixth week

Oops! I completely have forgotten about the 15/5 journal in the past week. I apologize for the late posting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last week’s meeting went smoothly as usual, and we were able to finish our initial draft of each of the different sections that we plan to include in the project. We discussed about how the various resources (video, graphics, and animation) will be used in the project We also, discussed in further detail the documents that we had split up among each other that is due on the 9th.

Since I have been assigned to work on learners profile, I have gathered some information on ACA's survey result from the previous 6210 STUDIO group, Genesis Learning Solutions. Also, I utilize some of our own survey result from the needs assessment survey that we conducted in Dr. Powell's class.

For the next week, we need to finalize the Evaluation Plan and the other documents in time to meet the October 9th deadline.

15/5 Fifth week

Last Thursday meeting, we watched a few of the videos from our client’s past visits to Russia. As we discussed about how each clip would be presented, we had difficult time to define which clip goes into different section. Since there is a lot of footage, our client suggested us that she would have someone who is familiar with the videos go through them and look for the best ones. I found that we can do just so much as an instructional designer, but we need to have subject matter experts’ careful review on materials.

Also, we decided to begin working on the upcoming documents that are due on Oct. 9 (User profile, treatment rationale, Hardware/Software and Screen Design). I have assigned to the part “User profile”. So, I have gathered some reference information from previous 6210 team worked with our client in this week.

We finally received the full content on Sunday evening. We cancel our usual Sunday meeting and review the content individually so that we can each become more familiar with it on our own and making some notes on how we thought it would be delivered best. When we meet again on Thursday we'll discuss our ideas and see if we can start figuring out how to design.

Things coming up: 1) Continue working on the User Profile documentation 2)
Develop concrete ideas for the flow of each section of the project

15/5 Fourth week

I just can't beilieve it has been already fourth week for my very last 6210 STUDIO class. How time flies!

Last thursday, we was able to complete our task analysis during our regular team-meeting. I love our team being so efficient and goal- oriented as well as amiable for each other. It seems that we already entered the third stage of the team work development that Dr. Clinto metioned on second week workshop.

We thought that we completed document for the needs assessment, but we realized that we have not defined performance objectives yet through the conversiation with Dr. Clinto and other team. Therefore, we have been assigned everyone in the team to work on two instructional goals in order to come up with performance objectives. I have been assigned to create performance objectives for Instructional goal 5 &6. This process allows me to review some of mateirals that I learned in 6170 Instructional Design course and applied those into the task.

As we finalized our performance objectives on Sunday on-line team meeting, I feel so confident about not only we defined all the things requre for the documentation work, but also we are a head of game and looking forward to move to next stage.
